Rupee slips 1 paise to 84.07 against US dollar in early trade

Meanwhile, the dollar index, which gauges the greenback’s strength against a basket of six currencies, was down 0.11 percent at 103.53 points.

The reason for the negative dollar index was the latest signal by China’s central bank to reduce the required reserve ratio for the country’s lenders by the end of this year, which is expected to provide a further boost to the world’s second-largest economy.

International benchmark Brent crude rose 0.21 percent to $ 74.61 per barrel in futures trade.
