Chennai-based real estate developer DRA today announced that it has appointed actress Rashmika Mandanna as its brand ambassador.
The company, which has developed 10 million sq ft (mostly residential) space in Chennai so far, is expected to add 2.7 m sq ft from its nine ongoing and six upcoming projects. Helping in this endeavor will be Rashmika, who co-starred with Amitabh Bachchan in Goodbye.
The actor has endorsed several brands and products like McDonald’s, Kalyan Jewellers, Bisque Farms, Cashify and Dabur Honey and was the first Indian ambassador of Japanese fashion brand Onitsuka Tiger in 2023.
Addressing a press conference here today, Rajneeth Rathore, Managing Director, DRA, said the company is likely to end 2024-25 with a turnover of Rs 500 crore, compared to Rs 300 crore last year.
The company was started in 1982 in Bengaluru under the brand name Ranka, but moved to Chennai in 2013 and now has its entire presence in the city.
It is present in Bengaluru as a joint venture partner but is expanding there on its own. Rathod said, DRA is also entering Pune.
Chennai’s residential market is worth ₹18,000 to ₹20,000 crore, in which the company has a 3 per cent share.
DRA aims to achieve 5 percent market share in two years. DRA exists in the mid to upper segment with ticket sizes ranging from ₹75 lakh to ₹1.5 crore, he said.
The total inventory for 2025-26 will be around ₹2,800 crore, and the developable area for the above inventory is 3.7 million sq ft and the inventory value for 2026-27 will be ₹4,000 crore (5.30 million sq ft), the investment will be around 25 per cent of inventory amount. The investment for 2025-26 is around ₹700 crore and for 26-27 is around ₹1,000 crore, he said.
